Kacin: EU wants relations with Kosovo to normalize
European Parliament Rapporteur for Serbia Jelko Kacin stated on Monday that the EU, including Germany, is not asking Belgrade to recognize Kosovo's independence and instead it wants relations with Pristina to normalize fully.

The modalities of autonomy and protection of minority rights in Kosovo and central Serbia which are acceptable for both sides are close at hand and it would be a great progress if the agreement on this matter was to be reached, and this would also open the door to beginning of talks on negotiations on membership, Kacin said at the 12th Serbian economic summit.
He expressed the hope that after the recent meeting between Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic and Kosovo Prime Minister Hasim Taci in Brussels talks on top political level would ensue which would bring tangible results.
We need to seek solutions that would make it possible for Serbia, Kosovo and the region to make up for the time lost in the previous decades, Kacin said and added that it is very important for the historical process to engage as many political leaders and representatives of the civilian society as possible so as to ensure support for normalization of relations in a wider Serbian and Kosovo society, Kacin said.
