This concerns the cooperation between the United States and Serbia on the latter's path toward the EU, U.S. Ambassador in Belgrade Michael Kirby said on Monday.
Head of the EU Delegation Vincent Degert also spoke positively about the joint visit, the press reported.
Clinton and Ashton are not coming to pressure the Serbian government, because the U.S. and the EU have the same approach when it comes to Serbia's future, Kirby told reporters at the Palace of Serbia.
The ambassador said the visit which had originally been scheduled for Wednesday morning, had been moved up due to an expected storm in the U.S. and would take place on Tuesday morning.
The head of the EU Delegation to Serbia said it was great that Clinton and Ashton would be coming to Belgrade together, especially after the recent meeting of the Serbian and Kosovo prime ministers, Ivica Dacic and Hasim Taci, with Ashton in Brussels.
Degert reiterated that Serbia's EU accession depended on the key issue of "visible progress in the relations of Belgrade and Pristina".
He commended the engagement of both sides and added there was "visible progress in the normalization of Belgrade-Pristina relations".
