Clinton, Ashton Tuesday in Belgrade on Kosovo,EU path

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton will pay a visit to Belgrade on Tuesday afternoon, during which they will encourage Serbian officials to continue the dialogue with Pristina and take concrete steps in order to make progress on the country's EU path, it was announced in Brussels and Washington.

While in Belgrade, Clinton and Ashton will hold a joint meeting with Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic and Prime Minister Ivica Dacic, the Serbian government's press office released in a statement.

Clinton arrived in Sarajevo late Monday, and Ashton joined her after a short while.

The two officials were welcomed at the Sarajevo airport by Zlatko Lagumzdija, Deputy Chairman of BiH's Council of Ministers and the country's Foreign Minister.

Clinton and Ashton will start their Balkan tour on Tuesday by talks with members of BiH's Presidency and representatives of the international community Peter Sorensen and Valentin Inzko.

This is Hillary Clinton's farewell visit before the U.S. elections scheduled for November 6.
