Kacin: MEPs impressed by Dacic and Vucic
European Parliament (EP) Special Rapporteur for Serbia Jelko Kacin stated that members of the EP delegation who met with Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic and First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic were impressed by their commitment and level of preparation for the talks on Kosovo and the continuation of European integration.

Kacin told The press that the EU believes the government has the capacity to make a breakthrough in the dialogue with Pristina and win the date for the beginning of talks because the two biggest parties in the government are looking forward into the future.
He explained that EP MPs discussed Serbia's challenges and priorities with the Serbian prime minister and deputy prime minister, ahead of the visit of U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and High EU Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton.
According to Kacin, they were impressed by the professional stand of the prime minister and deputy prime minister, and the fact that Belgrade and Pristina did not have a genuine high-level dialogue for 35 years, and the current government launched such talks.
Speaking about the meeting between Dacic and Kosovo Prime Minister Hasim Taci in Brussels, Kacin said that this is not just a one-time meeting and that it points to the will to achieve results in the dialogue and pay more attention to the future.
Ahead of the expiry of 100 days of the government's work, Kacin said that the EU believes the government has the capacity to resolve the most important issues.
A potential historical agreement between Belgrade and Pristina will turn the entire region into an exceptionally interesting market for foreign investments, Kacin said and added that this calls for stability and commitment to European integration, and Serbia will restore the role it once had and lost because of wrong strategies, Kacin said.
The delegation of the EP European Integration Committee is staying in Belgrade in connection to the continuation of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, Kacin said and added that they would meet with representatives of Pristina interim institutions in Kosovo on Wednesday.
