Serbian Prime Minister said earlier today that the government and president were ready to find a final soluton for Kosovo by the end of their term and announced that the next meeting with Kosovo's Prime Minister Hasim Taci would most likely take place on November 7.
"We truly believe that all open issues must be resolved by our generation, meaning that we should solve all key issues during the term of this government and president - accession talks with the EU and everything relating to Kosovo," said Dacic.
After a meeting with Stefano Sannino, the director-general for enlargement at the European Commission, the prime minister told reporters at the Serbian government building that he was prepared to discuss even the most difficult issues with Taci in Brussels.
He added that High Representative Catherine Ashton, who will act as the EU mediator in the talks, had said she would not impose topics for discussion and that everything the two sides agree on would be accepted by the European Commission and the EU.
"We will probably discuss a range of issues. The custom is to start with the easier ones, but we will not shy away from
talking about the most difficult topics. We are prepared to talk not only electricity and phones, but also a final solution," said Dacic.
Sannino said the Commission was very satisfied with the way the dialogue had begun, with a meeting of Taci and Dacic in Brussels. He did not want to comment further on the dialogue because it is mediated by Ashton, but said the Commission wanted to see a progressive normalization of Belgrade-Pristina relations.
We are not here to impose terms but to work on our common goal of Serbia becoming an EU member, said Sannino.
