Sannino, who is heading an EU delegation on a visit to Belgrade, welcomed Serbia's commitment to becoming a full-fledged EU member and noted that in the coming talks between Belgrade and Pristina deadlines should be kept flexible in order to avoid creating pressure.

According to Sannino, the West believes the whole process could move forward at a satisfactory speed, the president's press office said in a release.

Sannino also invited a Serbian delegation to visit Brussels soon to present its views and ideas about the resolution of the Kosovo issue before top EU forums, with a view to strengthening mutual understanding and cooperation.

Djuric stressed Serbia's dedication to meeting the preconditions for opening EU accession talks in the near future.

He said the talks with Pristina would continue soon at the highest political level and expressed expectation that a draft platform for the talks would be ready in the next few days, with the help of the Serbian parliament.

Earlier in the day, Sannino met with Prime Minister Ivica Dacic.
