Bjorn von Sydow, Council of Europe (CoE) Political Affairs Committee Rapporteur on Kosovo, has stated that his latest report on the situation in the province, which will be presented to the Parliamentary Assembly of the CoE in January, will consider the state of democracy and human rights, and added that Kosovo status is not on the agenda.

He also said it is much more important to report on how people in Kosovo now live.
My report will consider the state of democracy, the human rights issue, the rule of law, improvement of living conditions, von Sydow said, adding that the CoE's goal is to help Kosovo deal with challenges and provide effective implementation of basic rights for its citizens.
The CoE's rapporteur for Kosovo pointed out that he will submit a report on his recent visit to Kosovo to representatives of the Political Affairs Committee in Paris in mid-November.
During that visit, I, among other things, concluded that additional efforts are needed in the functioning of democratic institutions, strengthening of efficient public administration, independent judiciary, the fight against corruption... Further normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina is also needed, within the EU-mediated dialogue, he underscored.
The news reported that preparations for the report on the situation in Kosovo are being finalized, and added that von Sydow visited Pristina last week, and that he will give his impression at a meeting of the Political Affairs Committee in Paris on November 14, after which he will come to Belgrade.
