In a programme broadcast by the Radio and Television of Serbia, Jeremic underscored that Kosovo and Serbia's territorial integrity are not a party issue and that they call for the country's unified stand.
"As a member of the opposition, I call on the opposition and the Democratic Party to back the government's policy on the Kosovo issue. The opposition needs to keep up with the government on such an important issue. The government has the majority and the right to take the first step, and the opposition needs to keep up with this," Jeremic underscored.

He noted that everyone is acting as one on the issue of the independence in Kosovo, where political opponents are killing each other.

Jeremic expressed belief that it would be good for the opposition to back the government.

When asked whether the new government is a minion of the West, Jeremic said that there is no favouritism and that only interests are acknowledged, and the West realises its interests in agreement with those who are in the government at the moment.

The former foreign minister did not wish to discuss the current political situation in the country because he will be the country's representative in the next ten months which implies that he does not have the right to take stands on the internal affairs.
"We will discuss this issue when I return in ten months," Jeremic said.
