One of the reasons of the protest is an incident which took place in the multiethnic neighborhood of Brdjani, northern Kosovska Mitrovica, on Tuesday involving shooting from firearms.
Pantic said that the ethnic Albanians are trying to inhabit Brdjani with Albanians who never before lived there, and thus change the ethnic structure.
The goal is ethnic cleansing of Kosovska Mitrovica, and in the process they have the support of the international community, Pantic explained.
"Since the last year, KFOR has been on the side of the ethnic Albanians, and it is not only that they prevent our freedom of movement, but they also shoot at our brothers," Pantic said, pointing to the incidents which took place in north Kosovo in July 2011.
"We have to send a message to the international community and our government that KFOR, EULEX and the international community, are on the side of ethnic Albanians, and that the real goal of the establishment of the administrative line is actually the establishment of a border between central Serbia and it southern province," Pantic said.
On Wednesday, all four municipalities in northern Kosovo staged a one-hour blockage of roads i.e. the Kosovska Mitrovica-Raska road.
Head of the Kosovska Mitrovica District Radenko Nedeljkovic stated that Serbs in north Kosovo wanted to send a message that they will not accept possible implementation of the agreement on the integrated management of the administrative crossings.
UNMIK has to state clearly that it has the executive power in northern Mitrovica, and that the UNMIK administrator has to prevent illegal building works (in Brdjani), and an attempt of change of the real situation in the field, Nedeljkovic underlined.
