German diplomat Berndt Borchardt will be a new head of the EULEX mission, it has been announced by the media in Pristina, speculating that the appointment will take place next week. Borchardt will replace French general Xavier de Marnhac. Highly ranked sources within the EU have confirmed for the Koha Ditore daily that the election of the German diplomat is certain and that he already has experience with Kosovo, where he used to be deputy chief of the OSCE verification mission during the conflict.
