"The EU has the goal to draw a border here, but these people cannot be deceived, no one in Serbia wants a border here, and that will not be allowed," said Popovic, who is also Serbia's deputy parliament speaker.
He said that not only MPs, but also the DSS leadership, including leader of the party Vojislav Kostunica, will be with Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija in the coming days.
Commenting on the statement by Prime Minister Ivica Dacic, who said that the establishment of an integrated crossing at Jarinje will not change anything, Popovic noted that if customs and border police appeared there, then it would be a border.
Head of the DSS parliamentary group Slobodan Samardzic demanded that the parliament should stop its work while Serbs are at Jarinje in northern Kosovo as that is the least the parliament can do, and announced that MPs of that party will not take part in the parliament's work on Wednesday and Thursday.
Samardzic told reporters in the parliament that DSS MPs will take turns at Jarinje to support citizens who are preventing the establishment of a border crossing there.
