No major changes after establishment of IBM

Former state secretary at the Ministry of Kosovo Oliver Ivanovic stated Sunday he does not expect major changes after the establishment of integrated management at certain crossings between Kosovo and central Serbia.

"After the promises or assurances that the representatives of northern Kosovo municipalities received from the Serbian president and the prime minister, I believe the fear that a border is being established there has been eliminated," Ivanovic told.

He qualified as important that the Serb representatives from northern Kosovo received assurances that the Serbs will be able to pass through the crossings with Serbian IDs and license plates.

Ivanovic believes that the establishment of the integrated management of crossing points will not bring anything bad in the technical sense and that this might be a good solution for the future.

He added that a joint checkpoint will be set up instead of separated ones and that the citizens will be able to pass just with their ID cards.

"Identity check is now carried out at two distant places, which quite slows down the drivers," Ivanovic noted.

It is good that partnership relations between municipal president of four northern Kosovo municipalities and the Serbian government have been established, since this is the only way to achieve serious progress in terms of resolving the issue of northern Kosovo, Ivanovic concluded.
