"After consultations of whips with President (Tomislav) Nikolic, I will do my best to find time for the parliament to vote on the document by the end of the year," the speaker said in an interview for Belgrade-based daily.

He said that this document is being adopted in order to offer a solution.

"There will be no general discussion about relations, we will instead offer solutions that are in accordance with (UN Security Council) Resolution 1244 and our Constitution," Stefanovic underlined.

When asked whether a great majority would support the platform, he said that this depends on the MPs, but that it is necessary to approach this issue with as little party politicking as possible.

He said that that the government stands united in the fight against corruption, and that First Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic cannot be either intimidated or bribed.

Stefanovic expressed hope that Vucic and his family will not be physically threatened.

"I am certain that there are people who do not want good for Vucic for the courageous moves he has made and the true fight against crime which is for the first time seriously conducted in Serbia. They know that the signs are pointing towards them," he said, and expressed hope that the state bodies are taking all necessary measures so Vucic and other officials are safe.

"If we felt that there was no support for the fight against corruption and crime, we would not stay in the government. Therefore, I expect unwavering support. If someone has broken the law and put his hand in the pocket of the Serbian citizens, he will have to face responsibility regardless of party affiliation," Stefanovic said.

Stefanovic told the daily that the arrest of businessman Miroslav Miskovic will not shake the Serbian government and that the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) will not use the climb of its rating to call irregular parliamentary elections.
