The document will be presented by President Tomislav Nikolic. It got support from the leaders of the government parties at a meeting on Sunday and now the parliament groups, Kosovo Serbs and parliament have to give their opinion, the daily stated.

Serbia should fight for the broadest possible rights for the Kosovo Serbs, the daily said. The idea is for the north to become a kind of entity, similar to Republika Srpska in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

According to the newspaper, there would be no Serbian institutions there, but a Serb autonomy, and that proposal will be preesnted to the international community.

The platform will also invoke the Serbian Constitution, because Belgrade will never recognize Kosovo, the daily said.

"This protects the main goal, making everyday life for Serbs as easy as possible whlie also not linking them strictly to the institutions in Pristina," Vecernje Novosti noted.

Nikolic informed on Monday the ambassadors of Russia, China and the UK about progress in creating the government strategy for Kosovo.
