DSS files proposition for amendment of platform
The Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) filed a proposition to Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic for amending the platform on Kosovo according to which the document should contain the provision that the parliament would adopt the law on the autonomy of the southern Serbian province.

The new provision would clearly define the constitutional and legal standing of Kosovo within Serbia and the ties between Serbia and the province, DSS spokesman Petar Petkovic told a news conference.
The platform should be filed to the Serbian parliament and MPs should discuss it as soon as possible, Petkovic said and added that after the signing, the draft document was changed in ways that are not yet clear.
Petkovic said that Serbia's downfall and gradual recognition of Kosovo's independence began in 2008, with the implementation of the policy that the EU has no alternative.
Petkovic believes that the adoption of the platform on Kosovo creates a good prospect for putting right the mistakes made in the previous four years and changing the policy.
It is unacceptable to say that an independent Kosovo is a reality while the platform is not a reality, Petkovic underscored and added that Serbia's reality should be embodied in national interests and not in interests of foreign countries trying to take over Kosovo from Serbia, Petkovic said.
Noting that Serbia should not be turned to the western forces in the search for a solution for its future, Petkovic added that DSS will insist on a change of policy on Kosovo relative to the one carried out in the previous years, which implies that Serbia should turn to the preservation of its interests.
