Dissatisfied with the Brussels agreement on management of administrative crossings in northern Kosovo, the businessmen blocked the road from Pristina to Raska from 10 am until noon in two locations - near the village of Rudare in the Zvecan municipality, and in the vicinity of the old Jarinje crossing.

Several streets in Kosovska Mitrovica leading to the multiethnic neighborhood of Bosnjacka Mahala and the village of Suvi Do were blocked as well.

All stores in Kosovska Mitrovica, Zvecan, Zubin Potok and Leposavic were closed for the duration of the protest.

Businessman Rados Petrovic told Tanjug the protest would be resumed on January 9, after a break for the coming New Year's and Christmas holidays.

The protesters are asking that they be allowed to import excise goods exceeding 3.5 tons over the Jarinje administrative crossing and pay duties to Serbia instead of Kosovo.
