The meeting is being attended by Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic, members of his cabinet and head of the technical negotiations team in the Belgrade-Pristina talks Dejan Pavicevic.

Just before the beginning of the meeting, the Serbian Radical Party (SRS) staged a protest in front of the parliament building against the passage of the document.

The resolution proposal and the platform that produced the document were adopted at a joint session of the Serbian government and the president three days ago, and Serbian President Nikolic and Prime Minister Dacic told a news conference afterwards that it had showed the government's unity on the important national and state issue.

The draft resolution consists of six points and it states, among other things, that Serbia approaches the dialogue with representatives of the interim institutions in Pristina aware of the significance a mutually acceptable solution for KiM has when it comes to stepping up integration of the entire Western Balkans region in the European Union.

Representatives of the ruling coalition said they would back the resolution, the Democratic Party (DS) and the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) lent only conditional support as they seek certain amendments to be made to the document, while the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) said it would not back the resolution.
