Lajcak: Resolution a positive sign

The resolution on Kosovo adopted by the Serbian parliament is a positive sign and it speaks of the European integration of the entire region and a mutually acceptable resolution of the Kosovo issue, Slovakian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Miroslav Lajcak said.

This is certainly a positive sign but even more important than the resolution is the question as to whether the documents brings us closer to a sustainable solution to the Kosovo issue and EU membership, Lajcak said in an interview for the Belgrade-based daily Danas and added that he believes the answer to this question would be obtained very soon.

He noted that he supports any initiative or measure which efficiently contributes to the stabilization of the Western Balkans, mutual cooperation and EU integration of the region.

According to Lajcak, the conclusions of the European Council from December 2012 yielded criteria and parameters for such a process and the new resolution of the National Assembly speaks of the European integration of the entire region, among other things, and a mutually acceptable solution to the Kosovo issue.
