Drecun: No UN membership envisaged for Kosovo

Milovan Drecun, the chairman of the parliamentary committee on Kosovo, said that the coalition agreement, on which the ruling coalition is based, does not envisage any UN membership for Kosovo, as that would definitely mean the recognition of Kosovo's unilateral independence.

"I do not believe that Prime Minister (Ivica) Dacic would so quickly forget the adopted resolution and platform on Kosovo, by which all our negotiators are bound to ensure that every possible solution is in line with the Constitution and UN SC Resolution 1244," Drecun said for the Belgrade-based daily Politika.

Drecun, an MP of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), underscored that neither the UN Resolution, nor the Constitution envisaged any UN membership for Kosovo, as that would mean that Kosovo is an independent state.
