Kosovska Mitrovica Municipal President Krstimir Pantic has told Tanjug that the incident occurred at 8.40 p.m. Sunday in the presence of KFOR soldiers, who moved away from the scene after city folks started to gather around to see what was happening.

Pantic said that four KFOR vehicles withdrew to the southern part of Kosovska Mitrovica after the incident and that the building would be protected by members of civil protection units starting from Monday.

Pantic, who also serves as deputy head of the Serbian government's Office for Kosovo, criticized the KFOR move and strongly condemned the perpetrators of the incident.

The Kosovska Mitrovica town hall, located in a multi-ethnic neighborhood, has already been targeted by attackers. Stones have been thrown and guns were fired at it.
