North Kosovo Serbs block road for more than hour

On Tuesday morning, businessmen and citizens from northern Kosovo kept Pristina-Ribarice main road in Zubin Potok under blockade for more than one hour, thus expressing their disagreement with the presence of Kosovo's customs officers at the administrative crossing of Brnjak.

At the roadway which is again passable after the blockade, the citizens prevented EULEX staff around 8 a.m. CET from reaching the Brnjak crossing with their vehicles, because, as they put it, they suspect that the EU mission is transporting Kosovo customs officers.

Still, several EULEX vehicles, which were stopped in Zubin Potok, managed to reach the administrative crossing by taking a detour. Both lanes of the Pristina-Ribarice road were blocked for little more than an hour by trucks and passenger vehicles. As of late, the Brnjak crossing has been operating as an integrated crossing with Kosovo customs officers and police, EULEX staff and members of the Serbian Interior Ministry.
