Salja: End of talks, Dacic-Taci agreement in April

Political coordinator of the Pristina team in the talks on normalisation of relations with Belgrade Bljerim Salja stated that the talks between Kosovo Prime Minister Hasim Taci and his Serbian counterpart Ivica Dacic would end in April by an agreement which can even be a peace treaty similar to the one between the two German states.

In a programme broadcast by the Pristina-based Television Kohavision (KTV), Salja said that High EU Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton made this point clear to the two prime ministers.

Salja said that the two sides' representatives will be conducting intensive talks and that at the next meeting, the two prime ministers would discuss the dismantling of Serbia's security structures in northern Kosovo. According to him, the talks on the technical issues, headed by Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Edita Tahiri on the Pristina side, should end in February.

Salja also believes that Belgrade will be forced to recognise Kosovo's independence, even if it be only a day before the country's EU accession.
