Roads in Rudare, Zubin Potok unblocked

In the afternoon hours, traffic was restored to normal on the roads in the village of Rudare near Zvecan and Zubin Potok in Kosovo, which Serbs blocked on Thursday.

Serbs blocked these roads in protest against the presence of Kosovo customs officers and border policemen at the Jarinje and Brnjak integrated crossings at the administrative line between central Serbia and northern Kosovo.

During the blockade, Serbs stopped three EULEX vehicles in Rudare, which had to go back, as they suspected that Kosovo customs officers were in them.

During the blockade, passenger and freight vehicles were allowed passage along the Pristina-Raska main road, but they had to go between large concrete blocks that had been set up during the night. The obstacles remained in the road, and around 20 KFOR vehicles went back to the southern part of Kosovska Mitrovica.

Serbs from Ibarski Kolasin also dispersed shortly before 3 p.m., ending a full blockade of the main road connecting Pristina and Ribarice.

They removed the vehicles blocking the road, with a message that it would block the road again if the Kosovo customs officers and border police tried to reach the Brnjak crossing using a byway.

President of the Zvecan municipality Dragisa Milovic said earlier on Thursday that Serbs had gathered in Rudare and partly blocked the road, after they had heard that ROSU, special units of the Kosovo Police Service (KPS), customs officers and border policemen had headed for the north.
