Nikolic-Jahjaga meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday

The trilateral meeting between Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton will be held in the building of the European External Action Service (EEAS) at Schuman Square in Brussels at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

The Nikolic-Ahton-Jahjaga will also be attended by Marko Djuric, president's foreign affairs advisor.

Previously, Nikolic will hold a separate meeting with Ashton at 4 p.m., which will be attended by Serbian Foreign Minister Ivan Mrkic, Charge d'Affaires in the Serbian Mission to the EU Nikola Lukic, and Djuric.

After the meeting, Nikolic is scheduled to address Serbian media in Brussels.

This is the first Nikolic-Ashton meeting mediated by Ashton, which, as announced in the EU's capital, aims at strengthening the dialogue and further normalization of Belgrade-Pristina relations.

Ahead of the meeting, Nikolic assessed that this can not be a protocol meeting although it has been originally conceived as such.

Nikolic told Tanjug that he will inform Jahjaga that Serbia has defined its position on Kosovo in the Platform on Kosovo-Metohija, which it cannot abandon.

This is an opportunity for Jahjaga to finally hear directly, and not through the media, something she perhaps does not like to hear, that Serbia has its own Resolution, which it adopted based on the Platform, and that no one who represents Serbia can or wishes to stray from it, Nikolic stated.
