Resolution and platform frame Serbia's position
Milovan Drecun, chairman of the parliamentary Committee on Kosovo, commented on Wednesday's meeting between the presidents of Serbia and Kosovo, Tomislav Nikolic and Atifete Jahjaga, by saying that Nikolic will bring the parliamentary Resolution and government Platform into political play in the EU-mediated talks between Belgrade and Pristina.

He added this sends "a strong message that we want to reach an agreement with Pristina and with the Albanians about how we will live in the coming period" and what status Kosovo will have inside Serbia's internationally recognized borders, and that "we are not thwarting but accelerating the EU integration process of Serbia and the whole region."
Drecun said the key question is why Pristina agreed to talks with Belgrade at the highest political level, adding that this quasi-state has no future. Serbia will obviously not allow its autonomous province to become a state with full international capacity and get a seat in the UN, but it will offer the broadest possible autonomy within the internationally recognized borders of Serbia, stressed Drecun.
If such a solution is found, within this essential autonomy the Serb people in Kosovo will also enjoy essential autonomy, said Drecun. He said it is likely that all political hot-button issues, such as Kosovo, Bosnia-Herzegovina and the problem of a Greater Albania, will be settled at an international conference.
