Drecun: Taci's proposal is political maneuver
President of the parliament Committee for Kosovo Milovan Drecun stated Thursday that the proposal of Kosovo Prime Minister Hasim Taci regarding Serbian institutions in northern Kosovo is a political maneuver, adding that Pristina is trying to eliminate the institutions with diplomatic and political games.

Taci said that people in that part of Kosovo should have the right to choose their own leaders, adding that he will invite the OSCE to organize and manage this process "in order for it to be as reliable as possible."
He also announced that the Kosovo party will present a positive offer for the Serbs in the north, in order for them to integrate into the new Kosovo life, into the future Kosovo parliament and into central and local institutions.
Drecun told the press at the parliament building that, while Serbia is offering a comprehensive draft solution for Kosovo and requests the community of Serb municipalities which would have autonomy and be able to take part in Kosovo institutions only if Kosovo is autonomous within the borders of Serbia, Pristina, on the other hand, is trying to close the Serbian institutions with partial solutions in the interim period.
"Belgrade will now have to define a response to this initiative coming from Taci, because it is obvious that he will present it at the next meeting in Brussels. This is an apparent attempt at political maneuvering by which they want to first accept the existing institutions in the north and then integrate them and to organize elections in northern Kosovo only, with the help of the OSCE," Drecun noted.
Asked what was agreed at Wednesday's meeting of state leadership dedicated to Kosovo and EU integration, he said that he does not know the details, but that it is obvious that Belgrade's position has been harmonized ahead of the forthcoming meeting between Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dacic and Taci in Brussels.
Drecun, who is also an MP of the Serbian Progressive Party, said that the executive branch will soon brief members of the Committee for Kosovo.
