Their role will be to supervise and advise the Kosovo police, but they will have no competences in terms of command and control, she said.
The officials of the Kosovo police stated that they will do all in order for the celebration of the St, Vitus Day i.e. the anniversary of the Battle of Kosovo, which took place in 1389, to go well, stressing that they are ready and that Kosovo does not need incidents.
The participants of the celebration are also expected not to put up symbols that may incite hatred and intolerance to anyone.
Last year's celebration of Vidovdan at Gazimestan was accompanied by incidents as the Kosovo police took away the Serbian flags and participant's clothes if it had any symbols which the Kosovo police did not like.
The Kosovo police confiscated T-shirts with the Serbian coat of arms and images of the Serb ICTY indictees and on the return from Gazimestan the buses carrying Serbs were stoned.
This year as well, the central celebration of the St. Vitus Day will be organized on June 28 in the yard of the Gracanica Monastery, while a memorial service for the fallen Serb fighters will be held at Gazimestan near Pristina.
