Nazim Bllaca, who has previously confessed to working as a political assassin, pleaded guilty on Wedensday to killing a member of the Kosovo Democratic League. “At the initial hearing of the Bllaca case at the court of appeals in Pristina today, the defendant Nazim Bllaca pleaded guilty to aggravated murder,” the EU rule-of-law mission in Kosovo, EULEX said in a statement. “Nazim Bllaca killed Ibush Kllokoqi by shooting him six times. This happened in Pristina on August 6, 1999,” the indictment against Bllaca said. Bllaca claims to have been part of an unofficial security service that grew out of the Kosovo Liberation Army. He has been the key witness in two trials over wartime revenge killings which have seen seven people sent to prison. The second verdict in December last year saw five people sentenced to a total of 54 years in jail. Two of the defendants were convicted of involvement in the 1999 murder of Kllokoqi. A court hearing to determine Bllaca’s sentence is scheduled for July 15.
