Thaqi informed the Slovenian Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel on Wednesday that Kosovo was "ready for status and the building of a democratic country".
"We will cooperate very closely with Washington and Brussels to reach the status as soon as possible", Thaqi said.
European Enlargement commissionner Olli Rehn said he would outline to Thaqi his own view of the "coordination" process.
"After the failed talks in the UN, the EU has called for a coordination of the process which will lead to the completion of the status resolution", Rehn said,
Thaqi is also meeting EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana, as well as NATO officials.
