Lobbyist for Kosovo leads uprising in Egypt
The man behind the attack on the Egyptian Army in front of the Republican Guard building in Cairo, where ousted President Mohamed Morsi is said to be detained, is Safwat Hegazy, Islamic propagandist and one of the most important Kosovo lobbyists in Egypt, reads the Belgrade-based daily

Hegazy, who is known as a radical Islamist and a great supporter of Morsi, visited Kosovo in October 2011 together with representatives of Egyptian parties, civil society and media.
As Pristina media reported at the time, Hegazy underlined in his speech that there is a great friendship between the people of Egypt and Kosovo which has deep roots and long history.
On the occasion, the members of the Egyptian delegation expressed the wish of the political forces in Cairo for the Kosovo independence to be recognized as soon as possible, but this was not done before June 26, 2013.
Given that the key Egyptian initiators for the recognition of Kosovo were gathered around Morsi and that the majority of them are now either arrested, or like Hegazy, are candidates for arrest, the daily's sources believe that Pristina will have difficulties communicating with the new authorities in Cairo bearing in mind their open and exclusive reliance on the Islamists.
The recognition of Kosovo was one of the last decisions Morsi made before he was overthrown early in July, The press reported earlier.
Hegazy was born in 1963. He is a self proclaimed imam and television preacher. Hegazy is on the list of individuals banned from the UK for stirring-up hatred and glorifying terrorist violence.
