Director of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Aleksandar Vulin attended the opening of the reconstructed central town square which has been modernised by the Office's funds and the value of the project totalled RSD 5 million.

Municipal representatives signed a twinning chapter with Soko Banja, Lazarevac, Vrnjacka Banja, Pecinci, Sombor and Surcin.

The session was attended by representatives of local self-governments from northern Kosovo, the Office for KiM, Pristina University and others.

Such meetings mean a lot and in addition to the future cooperation in the economy, culture and sports, the visit and support mean a lot more because they are a sign that we are not alone, Zvecan Mayor Dragisa Milovic said and added that this is another sign that the struggle to remain in Serbia's constitutional and legal system has the support all around the mother country.

The service in St. George's Church to mark Saint Peter's Day was served by Bishop Teodosije of Raska and Prizren who then attended the official session to mark the day of the municipality.

During the 22 years of its existence and despite all hardships, the municipality of Zvecan managed to preserve its population and offer a home to many IDPs from Kosovo.
