DSS: Constitutional Court to voice stand on Brussels deal

“The Court avoids doing its job, it is obviously under pressure of the state bodies. The entire policy regarding Kosovo is conducted by the state bodies in an illegal and non-constitutional manner,” said DSS Vice President Slobodan Samardzic after delivering the letter to the Court. For nine months, the court has not declared its stance on the DSS proposals for assessment of constitutionality and legality of provisions which were adopted at the time of Borko Stefanovic, former head of the Belgrade negotiating team in the talks with Pristina, and also assessment of constitutionality of the Brussels agreement and a plan for its implementation, he said. He said that the state bodies sent letters to Slijepcevic on four occasions with a request to suspend the request for investigation into constitutionality and legality of the Brussels agreement. The first letter arrived from Vladimir Cvijan, president of the Committee for constitutional issues and legislation of the Serbian parliament, and the second one from Justice Minister Nikola Selakovic. The other two letters came from Prime Minister Ivica Dacic, Samardzic said. “In this country, it is obvious that everybody is doing what he wants, selling and leasing a part of the state territory. The Constitutional Court is not doing its job, and thereby it participates in surrendering Kosovo to Albanians,” Samardzic said. Samardzic said that the Court passed a conclusion on June 18, which will not be enforced by the end of September, making it possible for the government to adopt a special law on the province of Kosovo which would allegedly solve all debatable issues.
