RS minister Petar Djokic said on that occasion that the RS government and parliament have unanimously accepted the project in order to erect for the Serbs in that area a building that will be an expression of solidarity. This building is an expression of hope, Djokic underscored, voicing confidence that the brotherly love will yield many good projects. He called on the Serbs in Kosovo to have strength, courage and wisdom in order to stay in the province. This building will have eight apartments for Serb returnees, business premises with a part allocated to a cultural center of Republika Srpska, and an office of the inter-municipality center for social work. The works should be completed for around 100 days, the value of the project being estimated at BAM 0.5 million. Milorad Arlov, chair of the organizing committee tasked with offering assistance to the Serbs in Kosovo, expressed hope that this will encourage other institutions in RS, the diaspora and central Serbia to help people in Kosovo. Arlov pointed to a difficult position of the Serbs living south of the Ibar River, adding that help should be given to them too. The cornerstone-laying ceremony brought together representatives of the Office for Kosovo, local self-governments in northern Kosovo, during which Head of the Kosovska Mitrovica District Radenko Nedeljkovic extended thanks to guests from Republika Srpska.
