Ban Ki-moon wants fate of missing persons ascertained

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called on the Belgrade and Pristina governments to make an effort to shed light on the fate of missing persons and solve all war crimes in his quarterly report on the situation in Kosovo.

A meeting of the UN Security Council where a report by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon on the situation in Kosovo will be presented will be held on August 28, Tanjug has learned at the UN headquarters in New York.Shedding light on the fate of missing persons and prosecuting all those responsible for war crimes and other crimes should be the priority, says Ban, urging all sides to double their efforts to achieve progress in these matters. The UN Secretary-General notes that international support to all sides and international engagement in Kosovo remain of crucial importance. it is very important that the international community remain committed to the process of reconciliation and healing of wounds from the past, it is said in the report.Ban called on all international organizations in Kosovo to cooperate with the UN civil mission.
