Participation of Serbs in the local election to be held on 3 November in Kosovo is unacceptable because their going to the polls would be the "last act of recognition of Kosovo's independence",the Mayor of Zubin Potok, Slavisa Ristic, told Beta agency. Ristic said that nothing new was offered to political representatives of Serbs from the North of Kosovo on Wednesday in a meeting with the state leadership in Belgrade."The state leadership reiterated their decision, which they did not change in the meantime, that they wanted participation in the so-called Kosovo election at any price and they insisted on creating a so-called united ballot and they expected from us to join in this action",Ristic said.He said the allegations released after the meeting in Belgrade on an agreement between Serbia and representatives ofSerbs from the North of Kosovo on participation in the elections as being close were a media manipulation."We care about the state of Serbia and our government, but we cannot accept such an indecent proposal. It is indecent to request from the Serbian people to accept the terrorist Hashim Thaci as their president", Ristic said.He explained that the state leadership of Serbia insisted that representatives of Serbs from the north should declare their final stand on participation in the election.Ristic added that if the state leadership could not deal with the current officials of the Kosovo Serbs who were elected in a local election, let them install other people in power, who wanted to participate in the Kosovo election. It would be minor damage as compared to calling the Serbian people to commit the collective suicide by participation in the election", Ristic said.
