Detention extended for Albanians suspected of war crimes
A EULEX pretrial judge at the Basic Court in Kosovska Mitrovica approved a prosecutor's request for a two-month extension of detention for seven Albanians charged with war crimes in Kosovo.

The judge rejected their defense's request for release, so the following people will spend another two months in custody: Sahit Jasari, Avni Zabelji, Jahir Demaku, Zecir Demaku, Sami Ljustaku, Sulejman Selimi, Husni Taci, EULEX said in a release.These men are suspected of having committed war crimes against the civilian population, the release reads.The criminal proceedings in this case are being led by a EULEX prosecutor with Kosovo's Special Prosecution Office.The suspects are former members of the Drenica paramilitary unit of Kosovo Albanians, which was a part of the so-called Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).According to parts of the indictment that were published by the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN) in May, they are charged with murdering one and torturing an unknown number of Albanian civilians in the detention camp of Likovac, and the murder of at least one Serb policeman - Ivan Bulatovic from Glogovac.
