Kosovo police guarding Patriarchy of Pec
Head of the special Kosovo police unit for protection of cultural and religious heritage in Kosovo Drazo Bozovic stated on Monday that the Kosovo police took over the role from KFOR in the protection of the Pec Patriarchy Monastery.

International military troops in Kosovo are still guarding only the Visoki Decani Monastery, Bozovic told The press.He specified that members of the Kosovo police fully took over the role of security forces protecting the Pec Patriarchy a week ago. The unit guarding the Pec Patriarchy is multiethnic, he said and added that EULEX and KFOR are ready to help the Kosovo police at any point if needed. The Kosovo police special unit for protection of the Serb heritage and religious facilities gathers around 200 police officers. KFOR was in charge of the protection of monuments of Serbia's religious and cultural heritage in Kosovo until 2010, and later it transferred its jurisdiction gradually to the Kosovo police.
