Provincial committee: DSS will not take part in elections
Spokesman of the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) Petar Petkovic said on Monday that members of the DSS provincial committee in Kosovska Mitrovica, northern Kosovo, confirmed the decision of the party's Presidency that it will not participate in the forthcoming local elections in Kosovo.

At a regular news conference, Petkovic said that the DSS provincial board staged a meeting in Kosovska Mitrovica on Sunday at which committee members unanimously confirmed the decision of the DSS presidency that the party would not take part in the November 3 elections. The DSS provincial committee unanimously voiced a firm and unambiguous stand that local elections in Kosovo scheduled for November 3 are counter-constitutional and anti-governmental and that they cancel out government institutions in Kosovo, Petkovic said. He underscored that DSS would counter the local elections in KiM by various political, civil and party actions.
