Kosovo Serbs Present Land to Russian Movie Director
The Kosovo Serb municipality of Zubin Potok has given the well-known Russian film director Nikita Mikhalkov land in the hope that he will build a Kusturica-style 'ethno village'.

The municipality in northern Kosovo said it wanted to show its gratitude to Mikhalkov for “the love and boundless support he has been giving to Serbia and the Serbian people for decades.“The citizens of Zubin Potok hope the famous director will build a village like the one that his friend and colleague Emir Kusturica has built [in Serbia],” the municipality wrote.Mikhalkov last visited Serbia in July, when he attended the European Film Festival at Palic was was presented with an award for his contribution to the European cinematography.
Kusturica built his so-called "ethno village", called Drvengrad, and also Küstendorf - a play on his own name - for the film Life is a Miracle. It has since developed into a considerable tourist attraction.
