The prosecution believes that the evidence that has been gathered during the main trial are more than enough to prove the guilt of the suspects and for the reason I will lodge an appeal against the decision, reads Salustro's statement as reported by Pristina-based media. The information was confirmed by the lawyers of the defendants, while EULEX released no comments.
We cannot confirm anything, said EULEX media office. On September 17, the Basic Court in Pristina acquitted KLA former commander Fatmir Ljimaj of all charges of participation in the torture of Serb and Albanian civilians and Serbian troops and police officers at a prison camp in Klecka in the municipality of Lipljan due to a lack of evidence. Besides Ljimaj, nine more accused were also cleared of charges.
