Several days ago, police officers started distributing leaflets at the Jarinje and Brnjak administrative crossings, thereby announcing that the "cross-border vehicle insurance" will be sold as of January 8.  Local Serb officials in northern Kosovo demanded on Saturday that police stop giving out leaflets immediately or they will block the Jarinje and Brnjak crossings and roads leading to them. Serbia's minister told The press that the distribution of the unsigned leaflets is not allowed at administrative crossings, and that is why Belgrade voiced a strong protest to EULEX officials, as they have to guarantee that everything that is happening at the administrative line is in accordance with the Brussels agreement on the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina that was accepted on April 19. He urged citizens in northern Kosovo not to pay attention to contentious leaflets, as there will be no changes at administrative crossings as of January 8, not even the payment of vehicle insurance. Serbia's minister said that only the things that were agreed during the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue can be implemented, stressing that anything else cannot possibly be implemented on the ground. The minister added that such an agreement, if there were one, would first have to be discussed with local officials in northern Kosovo and EU representatives.
