Kosovo Police said the fatal shooting occurred on Wednesday near the “Emin Duraku” primary school in Pristina, but it did not give details about motives for the attack. Two suspects were arrested on Wednesday night. Local media said it may have been a revenge killing. Valbona Hadri, director of the school near where the shooting took place, told BIRN that gun shots were heard during school hours. While the other injured boy was a pupil there, Hadri said the murdered youngster was not connected to the school. “As far as we know he lived in Sweden and came to Kosovo for a visit,” Hadri said. The non-governmental Kosovo European Youth Council said security measures needed to be tightened around Kosovo schools. There are no official figures about the number of incidents that have occurred in recent years and around schools in the country, however.
