Assassinated councilor buried at Rudare cemetery
Member of the northern Kosovska Mitrovica municipal assembly Dimitrije Janicijevic, who was gunned down in front of his family house, was buried on Friday at the local cemetery in Rudan, near Zvecan.

The funeral was attended by his relatives and friends, as well as numerous citizens of Mitrovica. Among those who paid their respects to the tragically deceased Janicijevic were Deputy Prime Minister of Kosovo Slobodan Petrovic, leader of the Citizens' Initiative SDP Oliver Ivanovic, and many others. Dimitrije Janicijevic, 35, was a councilor of the Independent Liberal Party and candidate for the mayor of northern Mitrovica in local elections that were held in late 2013. He was shot dead with an automatic weapon early on Thursday in front of his house in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica. Due to the murder of Janicijevic, Friday has been declared a day of mourning in Kosovska Mitrovica.
