Cyprus against Kosovo independence, unsatisfied with EU legal framework for mission
Cypriot Foreign Minister Erato Kozakou-Marcoullis has said that official Nikosia abstained in a recent EU voting because it was not satisfied with the legal explanation regarding the possible EU rule of law mission to Kosovo.

"We were not satisfied with the legal explanation that was given in the documents, and although certain changes had been added, we still found it as unacceptable, so we decided to abstain in the voting", she specidfied.
Kozakou-Marcoullis reiterated that the stand of Cyprus as regards the recognition was well known, and underlined that the country was resolved not to acknowledge Kosovo independence and that it would not change that stand.
