Ban said ahead of the session that "in any case, Unmik will remain in Kosovo".

The session will be attended by Serbian president Boris Tadic, who will address the ambassadors of the 15 Security Council member-states at the beginning of the session, and the session will then continue behind closed doors.

The Serbian president will meet in New York with the UN secretary general, South African Ambassador Dumisani Kumalo whose country presides the UN Security Council, Chinese Ambassador Wang Guangya and Russian Ambassador Vitaly Churkin.
