Czech communists submit bill to parliament on resolute ban of Kosovo recognition
The Czech Communists (KSCM) have submitted a bill which would resolutely ban the government from recognising independence of Kosovo, head of the KSCM deputies' group Pavel Kovacik said.

The Communists believe that the southern Serbian province Kosovo declared its independence from Belgrade contrary to international law.
"We want to ban the government from recognising the state of Kosovo by a law," Kovacik said.
The senior opposition Social Democrats (CSSD) also want to prevent the cabinet from recognising the new Kosovo but they said earlier that they would not join the KSCM's initiative.
"We have arrived at the conclusion that it is necessary to look for a wider political consensus on the basis of more parties," CSSD chairman Jiri Paroubek said recently.
The Czech government discussed the proposal for the recognition of Kosovo's independence at the beginning of April but it made no decision and adjourned the debate indefinitely due to the fact that the majority of ministers opposed the recognition.
Czech president Vaclav Klaus, the junior government Christian Democrats (KDU-CSL) and some ministers for the senior ruling Civic Democrats (ODS), share the opposition view that Prague should not recognise the province as an independent state.
