Dialogue of Council of Europe with Kosovo Assembly within UN SC Resolution 1244

Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Mevlut Cavusoglu announced the possibility for the Council of Europe to initiate a dialogue with representatives of the Kosovo Assembly, but taking into account the legitimate interests and concerns of Serbia and without violation of UN SC Resolution 1244.

The Political Committee of this organization believes that a dialogue should be carried out with elected political representatives from the Kosovo Assembly on issues of common interest, but taking into account the legitimate interests and concerns of Serbia and UN Resolution 1244, Cavusoglu told a press conference in Strasbourg.

He confirmed that in the latest report on Kosovo, the Council of Europe supports pragmatism, while maintaining neutrality when it comes to status.

The parliamentary Assembly has commenced the summer session today which will last until June 25. Kosovo will be discussed in greater detail today. The Permanent Delegation of the Serbian Parliament is headed by Dragoljub Micunovic.

There will not be any Kosovo Albanian government representatives at the meeting.
